Federal Trade Commission
I am an industrial organization economist who received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2020. I study, theoretically and empirically, how firms set prices in the face of uncertain and evolving market conditions. I have studied:
- How firms gather information to reduce uncertainty
- How firms adapt to uncertainty they cannot easily reduce
- How the nature of information and pricing technoology (e.g., pricing algorithms) impacts competition
- How economists can infer firms' information (when choosing prices) from market data.
